International business consultant Joan Keston emphasizes that only the best translations can get the job done in the 21st century economy.
A recent article from LocalTechWire.com reminds us that in today’s global business context, language translations must go far beyond words. And when the time comes to gather around an international negotiations table, language interpreting quality must be irreproachable in order to avoid later confusion — or out-and-out regrets.
“Negotiations may result in a deal, later to find that there was a misunderstanding or inherent disagreement in the fundamentals of the deal,” writes Keston in her March 28th article about the key role of quality language translation. “I have been at many meetings where there were language translations, but where neither side truly understood what the other side was trying to convey.”
Of course top-notch language translation services come at a certain price, but Keston points out that communicating right the first time can save your company money over time and help you avoid costly errors. For these reasons, translation must be considered as an up-front cost if you want to successfully break into a new international market.
