Event Details: The Centre of scientific research Theory and Practice of Discourse of the Faculty of Letters the Dunărea de Jos University of Galaţi invites you to the first international conference on lexical studies, entitled General Lexicon/Specialized Lexicon, which will take place between 17 and 18 September 2008.
The conference organizing committee invite approaches to the lexicon through the perspective of:

Phraselogy
Stylistics
Terminology
Lexicography
History of mentalities and history of culture
Language teaching methodology
The scienitific background of the suggested sections invites to debates on ways through which the most sensitive compartment of any language, the lexicon reacts to the cultural and socio-political changes brought about by the phenomenon of globalization as well as to the migration of words from the specialized lexicon to the general lexicon and the other way round, both in Romanian and other European languages.
